Master the Classics. Lead the Future.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

The 1% Scholar reserves the right to refuse or deny applicants at any point. This policy may also be changed at any point and time, without notice or consent.

1. Enrollment & Deposit

Upon acceptance into the program, a non-refundable enrollment fee (or deposit) is required to secure the Scholar’s seat. This fee covers the administrative costs of setting up the Scholar’s digital portfolio and curriculum access.

2. Withdrawal Policy

We understand that schedules change. Our refund schedule for tuition is as follows:

  • Full Refund: 100% of tuition (minus the enrollment fee) will be refunded if the request is made at least 14 days before the first scheduled Scholar Session.
  • Partial Refund: 50% of tuition will be refunded if the request is made within 7 days after the first session.

No Refund: No refunds will be issued once the second session of the term has commenced.

3. Expulsion for Conduct

As outlined in the Enrollment Contract, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for repeated lack of preparation, plagiarism, or disrespectful behavior.

If a Scholar is expelled from the program following Step 3 of our disciplinary process, no refund will be issued for any remaining sessions in the term. This is due to the seat being reserved exclusively for the Scholar, preventing other students from joining the cohort.

4. Missed Sessions

  • Scholar Absence: Because this is a live, discussion-based seminar, we cannot offer refunds for missed sessions. If a Scholar is absent, they are still responsible for submitting their Weekly Portfolio by Friday to receive credit.
  • Mentor Absence: In the unlikely event the Mentor must cancel a session, the Mentor will communicate all planned absences in advance if possible. If cancellations are to occur, extensions will be fairly allotted to the Scholar on a case-by-case basis.

5. Digital Materials

Access to digital textbooks, proprietary reading guides, and templates is included in the tuition. Once these materials have been accessed or downloaded, they are considered “used,” and their value cannot be refunded.

Policy Summary

Our program is built on commitment. When you enroll, we reserve a space in a small, elite group for your child. Because we limit our class sizes to ensure high-quality Socratic dialogue, we are unable to provide late-term refunds.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund under the eligible terms above, parents must send a formal email to info@the1percentscholar.com. The date of the email will be used as the official timestamp for the refund schedule.
